The best way to summarize the story of Valerie & Andrew's elopement experience is best explained on this quote by Allen Saunders; "Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans." So when plans seemed to jump out of the window, instead of drowning in frustration they made the most out of the current situation and simply opted for an elopement instead. Let's say it didn't stopped them from getting those dreamy shots on their Old San Juan Adventure Elopement.
Many couples that had big wedding plans while the pandemic struck with plans of its own. I remember that Valerie always said to us that she dreamed of having her wedding dress photos and videos taken in the streets of Old San Juan. That was one of the reasons, if not the main reason for choosing Puerto Rico as their wedding destination.
When designing Valerie & Andrew's elopement experience we integrated a certain European romantic feel to it. Even though this was happening in Puerto Rico, you see some glimpses of an Italian vibe in Andrew's getting ready shots.
Not only does he look like this charming Italian man, but the tones and the red domes in the background of his window shots kind of make you feel like you're in an Italian town. This wasn't by chance, we actually carefully thought about this when picking out the hotel in San Juan and selecting the room so it intentionally gave that look and feel to the story.
Valerie is a confident and independent woman so there's something about her that speaks "boss" but in a amazing modern bride way.
More so with her custom designed dress by Jude Wilson. Valerie's background is Philippino so she wanted to carry her heritage with her custom gown made from a Philippine designer house adds a great touch to her overall glam look. This dress looks absolutely incredible on her, glam & modern. Take a look into every little detail.
One of the venues is the Hotel El Convento, which was a historic convent back in the 1646, now renovated to be one of the most popular hotels and venues in Old San Juan. Just outside are the cobbled streets of Old San Juan which are just the perfect backdrop setting for any elopement and adventure.
Walking distance from here is the Convento's sister venue, El Palacio Provincial which has the most magical view of the red domes of the cathedral from their rooftop. The entrance and just the feels of this place are utterly romantic.
No, this isn't Florence but I mean WOW!
Here Valerie wanted to show off her second outfit, a more minimalistic satin flowy gown by @michaellosordo. It is truly perfect for the location.
To cap off the day, the newlyweds headed to El Morro Fort to find the perfect spot to pop out the champagne with the sunset.
Valerie + Andrew didn't just settle with cancelled wedding plans. They simply married Up by eloping instead in the magical cobbled stone streets of Old San Juan. It was so fun, they ended up raising some champagne glasses to end this celebration with a bang. We're. so glad to have been part of making this possible. Congrats you two for your persistency and for following your dreams.
